Why Did You Become An SSDI Lawyer In Tulsa?

Oklahoma SSDI Lawyer Explains Why He Practices Disability Law

Tulsa SSDI attorney Steve Troutman has not always been a disability lawyer. In this video, he explains his past and what drew him to the field of disability law.

If you are applying for disability benefits or have run into problems trying to get your SSDI benefits approved, you would benefit from the services of a dedicated Social Security Disability attorney. If the cost of legal services worries you, you should know that disability attorneys by law are only able to take 25 percent of your back benefits when you are approved, or $6,000 maximum – whichever number is lower. Additionally, your future benefits are all yours. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain by speaking to a disability law firm about your case. I was actually an engineer in a management job. I think I decided to go from electrical engineering to law just because I saw what my wife was doing and I thought it was very interesting. I went with her to a national conference, and I was the tagalong spouse and I went to some of the classes and I enjoyed them and I walked out of the class and said, “I think I’d like to do this.” Next thing you know, I was in law school. It’s pretty stressful doing a 40-hour, really more like a 45 or 50-hour a week job and going to law school at night. Most people finish law school in three years, it took me four because it was night classes. I was proud of the fact that I finished first in my law school class, despite the difficulty of working and going to law school at night.
